Toronto Sun Rides Along with JUST JUNK in Toronto
Why do you need junk removed? The easy answer is because you need that space again, but just because space is an issue, it doesn't mean that it's easy to part with lifetimes of collectibles, antiques and memories in an afternoon. These things were a part of your life and it would never be deemed easy to just "get rid of" something of emotional value.
To see how this process worked we took along Jenny Yuen, reporter with the Toronto Sun, to a few of our jobs to see the important work that we can do to help people through the process. You can read the whole article here. Jeremy and Liam, our two intrepid removal pros from JUSTJUNK's Toronto franchise, showed her the ropes and expressed just how emotional removals can be for some of our customers. Jeremy Barda has seen all sorts of reasons people remove "junk", "They just want to get rid of it," he said. "Even family pictures they get rid of. They don't want to deal with it. I took 10 loads out of my dad's house. There are also a lot more renter-jumpers, who just leave all [the junk] and it's up to the landlord to take care of it. We have to be there quick, so they can flip it and make more (rent) money again."
Whether profiteering or finally clearing up decades of clutter, junk removal isn't psychologically easy for anyone, and knowing this actually makes the job easier. We all struggle with excess. Daily, ads are pushed in front of us for things that look great but their use value wears away quickly and soon enough we don't have the space for it. That's where we come in and help. Toronto is one of our busiest areas, and we're happy to meet any customer with the kindness that their removal deserves!
